Psychotherapy offers a space to pause, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and intentionally create meaningful change. It is a process of exploring your life story, emotions, relationships, and the ways you have learned to cope with life's challenges.
You don't have to be in crisis to begin therapy. Sometimes people seek therapy because they are suffering. At other times, they simply want to understand themselves more deeply, improve their relationships, or live in greater alignment with their values.
At Gray Owl Psychotherapy, we offer individual and group psychotherapy for adults. Every therapeutic journey begins with an initial consultation, where we take the time to understand your story and work together to determine the type of support that best fits your needs.
Individual therapy provides a space to explore your experiences, emotions, and patterns of living with curiosity and compassion. Therapy is a collaborative process, tailored to your pace, goals, and individual needs.
We work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:
Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to understand yourself through relationships with others.
It provides a safe space to experience authentic connections, build trust, and receive meaningful feedback. Within the group, people often discover recurring interpersonal patterns, gain new perspectives on themselves, and develop healthier ways of relating to others.
We offer Schema Therapy groups incorporating elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS). These groups may be particularly helpful for individuals struggling with relationship difficulties, low or unstable self-esteem, social anxiety, perfectionism, relational trauma, and challenges with setting healthy boundaries.
We also facilitate psychotherapy groups for individuals in long-term recovery from addiction. These groups are designed for people who wish to deepen their recovery, strengthen emotional resilience, improve relationships, and reconnect with themselves. You can learn more on our Addiction & Recovery page.
We do not believe that one therapeutic model fits everyone.
Our work is grounded in integrative psychotherapy, meaning that we adapt the therapeutic approach to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular model.
Our practice draws primarily from Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and body-based approaches. We view these methods as tools that support the healing process—not as goals in themselves.
Above all, we believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important element of meaningful change. A relationship built on trust and safety creates the conditions for self-understanding, reconnecting with your inner resources, and lasting transformation.

Your first consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to talk about what has brought you to therapy. Together, we will explore your concerns, discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have, and consider which form of support is likely to be the best fit. You do not need to know exactly what you need or have everything figured out before you begin. All that is required is a willingness to take the first step. If we both feel that psychotherapy is the right path, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals. Book Your First Consultation
